Coaching Through a Jewish Lens

A Small Group Coaching Program

What Is Coaching Through a Jewish Lens?

This program, designed specifically for leaders in the Jewish communal field, integrates Jewish texts, learning, and values throughout each foundational coaching module in order to help leaders strengthen the skills and perspectives they need to successfully lead unique and diverse centers of Jewish life.

Modules are carefully constructed to accommodate all levels of Jewish fluency. No prior formal Jewish education is required. Those with advanced Jewish learning will still find the material compelling as it integrates with executive coaching modules.

Our Unique Approach:

Cohorts of approximately 12 participants from across North America are matched by affinity group (CEOs, Heads of School, Rabbis, etc), and join together monthly, by zoom, for 90-minutes over the course of six months. Each month we explore a new learning module, with independent readings, workbook exercises, and accountability partner conversations between monthly sessions.

Our Coaching Modules Include:

  • Exploring what is β€œCoaching” and the Jewish tradition of asking questions

  • Adult Learning Models and Shifting Perspective

  • Articulating Your Personal and Organizational Values

  • Communication and Behavior Styles using a DISC framework and Talmudic tradition

  • Managing Change and Disagreement l'Shem Shamayim (in the name of Heaven)

  • Naming and Conquering Your Internal Saboteurs with Cheshbon Hanefesh (accounting of the soul) and Teshuva (repentance)

Through the lens of Jewish text and tradition, participants learn how to:

  • Align priorities with values to simplify decision-making

  • Approach challenges with a coaching mindset

  • Shift communication and behavior styles to effectively meet the needs of others

  • Shift perspectives to increase curiosity and creativity

  • Manage change and disagreement

  • Identify and disarm internal saboteurs

  • Practice self compassion

  • Increase Emotional Intelligence (EQ) competencies
